Bill Humphries, CEO, is an experienced leader in the life sciences industry, previously serving as CEO at Isosceles Pharmaceuticals, President and Group Company Chairman of Ortho-Dermatologics, CEO of Merz North America, President of Stiefel, a GSK Company and Vice President of US Skincare at Allergan Pharmaceuticals. Bill also served as Chairman of the Board at Clearside Biomedical, Executive Chairman of Strata Skin Sciences, and a member of the Board of Directors at Aclaris Therapeutics, PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals, SKNV, and Bryn Pharmaceuticals. Humphries’ academic credentials include a B.A. from Bucknell University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Ken Morgan, Chief Financial Offier, brings over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with considerable experience in finance, mergers, acquisitions, and information system implementations. Ken joined AAIPharma (now Alcami) in 1997 and has served in numerous financial leadership roles throughout his long-standing tenure with the company. Before rejoining Alcami, he was the Vice President and Controller of TriPharm Services, a parenteral contract manufacturing organization acquired by Alcami. Ken has a BS in Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Rose-Marie Nelson, Chief Human Resources Officer, is a proven human resources leader with 30+ years of experience developing and aligning HR strategy, teams, and processes in CDMO organizations and private equity held businesses. She started her career with Alcami when the company was known as Applied Analytical Industries (AAI). In her 28-year tenure with AAI, Rose worked in roles of increasing responsibility, serving as the Director, Benefits and Compensation before she transitioned to Avista to lead their HR group. Cambrex purchased Avista and Rose then served as VP, Human Resources for one of their business units. She rejoined Alcami in June, 2023 to serve as interim CHRO. Rose earned her MBA from UNC- Wilmington in 2006.
Tariq Jamal, Chief Information Officer, guides Alcami’s technological transformation and strategic endeavors. He is proficient in digital transformation, ERP implementation, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture, all of which are central to driving growth, fostering innovation, and enhancing operational efficiency. While at Lonza, Tariq managed IT Americas operations, focusing on strategic mergers, acquisitions, and system integrations, with an emphasis on SAP, Operations, and Commercial platforms. He seamlessly integrated IT operations following Lonza's acquisition of Capsugel. At Capsugel, he managed the IT carve-out from Pfizer, laying a solid foundation for Capsugel's growth and the subsequent sale to Lonza.
Prior, Tariq led IT transformations and managed complex integrations at Roche and Novartis, including the $50 billion+ acquisition of Genentech by Roche, consistently aiming to harness technology for strategic gain and operational superiority. He earned an MBA from Manchester Business School as well as completing advanced studies in analytics, AI, and strategic leadership at the Wharton School, MIT, and London Business School.
Jacque Martin, Chief Quality and Regulatory Officer, joined Alcami in January of 2020 as the Vice President of Quality Operations. Before joining Alcami, she was the Vice President of Quality at TriPharm Services and was responsible for all Quality and Compliance aspects of the company’s parenteral manufacturing operation and related testing. Before this, she used her depth of industry experience as a consultant for private equity firms. Prior to this, she oversaw the Quality and Compliance of externally manufactured Commercial sterile products for Gilead Sciences, which encompassed aseptic processing, blow-fill-seal, and medical device operations, which totaled sixteen sites globally. Before Gilead, she was the Site Head of quality for the AAIPharma aseptic manufacturing facility located in Charleston, SC. Jacque holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina.
Timothy Compton, Chief Strategic Accounts Officer, brings over twenty-five years of industry experience with an extensive background in leading commercial operations. Before joining Alcami, Compton was the Chief Commercial Officer at Avid Bioservices, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDMO), a contract large molecule bulk drug substance development and manufacturer. From 2015 to 2019, Mr. Compton was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Avista Pharma, a private equity-backed global provider of contract manufacturing, development, and analytical testing services acquired by Cambrex. Mr. Compton also served in numerous executive leadership roles at AAIPharma Services Corporation, a predecessor company to Alcami, from 2010 to 2014. During the first 10-years of his career, he supported small innovator biotech/pharma start-up companies, advancing drugs from discovery to the clinic. Prior to embarking on a career in commercial operations, his last scientific role was Director of Analytical Development at Kadmus Pharmaceuticals. Tim holds a B.S. in Microbiology from Washington State University and is an active-duty veteran of the U.S. Army.
Katie Schlipp, President, Laboratory Operations, brings over 25 years of experience in leading laboratory teams. Before returning to Alcami in June 2020, Katie worked for two years at Avista Pharma Solutions/Cambrex where she led the Analytical Development Service team to over 46% year over year growth. She started her career with AAIPharma (now Alcami) in Wilmington as an Assistant Scientist and has progressed through every level of the career ladder. While at AAIPharma, some of her many accomplishments included implementing 5S principles and streamlining processes, introducing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics, and implementing training and mentoring solutions within the lab teams. Katie holds a Bachelors and Masters of Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.
Laurent Boer, President, Pharma Storage and Services, is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Laurent brings global expertise and a proven track record in overseeing complex pharmaceutical operations. His extensive background includes key leadership roles at Resilience, and a decade-long tenure at Sanofi Genzyme, where he played pivotal roles in executive leadership. With prior contributions to supply chain management at UCB Pharma and Biogen, Laurent's expertise spans strategic and operational planning, end-to-end cold chain management, and clinical trials supply. He holds a Master of Science in Business Econometrics from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Kerrie Powell, Senior Vice President, Sales, is a passionate leader with a proven Life Sciences track record, including developing and implementing sales strategies and building high-performance teams. She joined Alcami in 2020, and previously served as Senior Director of Client Lab Services and Vice President of Sales, Lab Services before her promotion to head sales for all corporate divisions. Prior to Alcami, Kerrie served as Executive Director, Animal Health for Cambrex (formerly Avista Pharma Solutions/SCYNEXIS, Inc.) where she managed the team responsible for the discovery and development of novel molecules for animal health indications with oversight of technical and business development. She earned a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Guy Kubi, Vice President, Finance & Business Operation is responsible for Alcami’s financial planning and analysis function as well as the development, improvement and tracking of business and performance metrics across the entire organization. As part of his role, he’s also responsible for defining and executing Alcami’s organic and inorganic growth strategy. Guy returned to Alcami in May 2020 as the Site Controller for the RTP location and played a key role in overseeing the integration and build-out of the newly acquired sterile fill-finish site. Before returning, he served as Controller at Avista Pharma Services and led the Finance, Business and Capex initiatives over a multi-site expansion resulting in the company’s sale to Cambrex in January 2019. Guy started his career at AAIPharma (now Alcami) in the Finance department after graduating from Winthrop University as a Division I tennis scholar athlete, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Guy is a licensed CPA (inactive) in the state of North Carolina. Before attending college, Guy completed military service with the recognition of Sargent.
Dr. Elliott Franco, Ph.D, Vice President of Laboratory Operations, has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years with several companies including Wyeth (now Pfizer), Nektar Therapeutics, and most recently Alcami. His pharmaceutical experience is primarily based in analytical development and testing for many products from pre-clinical to commercial stages of development in roles of increasing responsibility. His experience outsourcing development work to CDMOs has provided great perspective of the drug development industry. He leverages this client perspective in leading laboratory operations attuned to those client needs. He is currently responsible for laboratory operations at Alcami’s RTP, NC campus and oversees the expansion of capabilities supporting therapeutic proteins, nucleic acids, and advanced modalities such as Cell and Gene Therapies. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Northern Illinois University.
Stacey Williams, Alcami Vice President of Marketing, manages the team executing Alcami’s multi-pronged marcom program, including brand strategy, digital marketing, corporate communications, event marketing and activities focused on promoting Alcami’s core CDMO businesses. She delivers integrated, visionary leadership, with extensive experience in the complex world of healthcare and strives to break traditional silos and bring all functions together with a mix of bold vision and day-to-day execution. Stacey most recently served as Vice President of Marketing at Dermavant Sciences where she was responsible for delivering plans around business and brand strategy objectives. Prior roles include Chief Marketing Officer of Isosceles Pharmaceuticals; Vice President of Marketing for Ortho-Dermatologics, a division of Bausch Health, and Senior Director of Marketing for Merz Therapeutics. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tulane University.
Anna Murray, Vice President, Project Management, coordinates the company’s project management delivery teams for Drug Product Development and Manufacturing and Laboratory Services. She provides strategic support and direction and directional training across the team to ensure outstanding project delivery, financial execution, and customer satisfaction. Anna brings over 20 years of experience in the industry, including oral solid dose and sterile formulations, manufacturing operations, and project management. Anna started her career with Alcami when the company was known as Applied Analytical Industries (AAI) and in her 11-year tenure, has served in roles of increasing responsibility, from Formulation Development Scientist and Supervisor of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing to Senior Project Manager and Director of Drug Product Project Management. Anna also spent several years outside of Alcami honing her experience at Baxter Healthcare, serving in various capacities including Manufacturing Director, as well as at Paraxel as Manager, Project Management and Delivery and Supply and Logistics Leader. She earned her MBA in Business Administration and her BA in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
