Durham, North Carolina – (May 28, 2024) – Alcami Corporation (“Alcami”), a leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), today announced it will co-host an upcoming Talk & Tour event with the Parenteral Drug Association’s Southeast Chapter on July 25 at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center from 12:30 – 5 pm. Open to the public at a cost of $25 for PDA members, $35 for nonmembers and $10 for students, all registration fees will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Fundraiser. Funds raised through Light the Night enable the LLS to fund treatments for all forms of blood cancers. LLS has helped fund over 70% of FDA-approved blood cancer treatments since 2016. Register here.

During the afternoon, participants will hear from Lexie Petsikas of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, followed by Alex Drennan, Alcami Director of Manufacturing, Jeremy Mainville, Alcami Director of Laboratory Operations, and Elliott Franco, Alcami VP of Laboratory Operations, who will share key learnings in sterile fill-finish manufacturing, CDMO microbiology capabilities and lab biologic capabilities, as well as project streamlining with a focus on oncology. The event includes tours of Alcami’s cutting-edge sterile fill-finish suites in the heart of RTP (with transportation provided) plus a networking reception and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

“We are delighted to partner with the Parenteral Drug Association Southeast Chapter to offer this educational session to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s important 2024 Triangle Light the Night fundraiser,” said Alcami Senior Vice President of Sales Kerrie Powell. “Our work at Alcami centers around helping speed the delivery of innovative treatments to the patients who need them, and no organization is more deserving of the spotlight than the LLS. We are honored to help support their vital efforts to find and fund the most promising research leading to new treatment discovery and novel ways to use existing treatments for every person with blood cancer.”

And Lexie Petsikas, LLS Campaign Development Manager, said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to share the LLS mission and highlight Light the Night, one of our biggest campaigns and events, at the Alcami Talk and Tour. It is vital to have the support of companies like Alcami that are committed and focused on helping deliver innovative treatments to cancer patients. Thank you to the Alcami team for backing the LLS and hosting an event to raise lifesaving funds in support of our mission and Light the Night.”

The first in an ongoing series of events with the PDA’s Southeast Chapter that focus on its mission to connect people, science and regulation, Alcami will next co-host a Talk & Tour event on September 17 in Charleston, SC. Alcami also serves as an annual sponsor of the Parenteral Drug Association Southeast Chapter.
